NATO Partnership Training and Education Centers Work Group 2016

    Between 27 June and 01 July 2016, the DRESMARA representative COL Dorin DUICULETE participated in the Partnership Training and Education Centres Working Group (PTECs WG), attended by 32 representatives from 17 countries.

    The event, organized by the Allied Command Transformation/HQ Supreme Allied Commander Transformation/Joint Force Trainer (ACT/HQ SACT/JFT) and the NATO School Oberammergau (NSO), Germany, as co-chairmen, and hosted by the Bulgarian PTEC, Foreign Language Department (FLD), was attended by representatives from:

  • NATO HQ structures: International Staff/Political Affairs and Security Policy Division (IS/PASP) and International Military Staff (IMS);
  • Department for Peacekeeping Operations (DPKO)/United Nations (UN);
  • 27 PTECs out of 30 accredited centres;
  • Hungarian Defence Forces Peace Support Training Centre/HDF PSTC, as a candidate of the PTEC status.

The agenda of the activity included topics such as:

  • IMS and HQ SACT updates in the enhance and consolidation of the individual training and education offered by PTEC;
  • IS/PASP update in preparation of the Warsaw NATO Summit;
  • PTEC community support of the Global Programming (link);
  • PTECs support of the UN training while maintaining their role in NATO;
  • NSO update, seat allocation process for NATO members and partners, „Train the Trainer” and „Instructor Exchange” programs;
  • Briefings on “Emerging threats”, “Comprehensive approach to crisis management – Integrated training “ and “Regional cooperation”;
  • Organization of the Marketplace and the second PTECs WG in Brussels, October 2016;
  • Organization of the 17th Annual Partnership Training and Education Centres Commandants' Conference (PTEC CC) in 2017.
